Walt Disney World Space Mountain Changes
If you are like me, a day at Magic Kingdom has to include the “three mountains”. Well on our last trip in June 2009, we had to skip Space Mountain because as the cast members would say, it was going through a “Rehab”. Well we are headed back to disney in August and I have been snooping around to see if there were any major changes made to Space Mountain. I found a good article below that details some of the changes you will see when going on Space Mountain now…check it out.

Mickey’s Jammin Jungle Parade
For the first time, we stayed and watched Mickey’s Jammin Jungle Parade at Animal Kingdom. We really enjoyed it. Just like the parade at Hollywood Studios, the characters are very interactive. The parade takes place every day at 4:00 pm. Check out my You Tube video of my pictures from the parade.

Disney’s Toy Story Mania Orlando Florida
When we went to Walt Disney World October 8 – 13th, we were very excited about the addition of Disney’s Toy Story Mania Orlando Florida and getting to ride it for the first time. I must admit that I really got attached to the attraction. I guess the competitor in me came out and I could have just continued to ride it to see how high of a score that I could get. In the three times that I rode, I never did get over 100,000, so I needed a lot of practice (the highest score for the day was over 300,000).
On our first day, we went to Epcot and were finished about 3 pm with everything that we wanted to see. We had rode Soarin twice and the last time was able to sit 1st row center, so I was satisfied and ready to go. We decided to take the boat ride over to Hollywood Studios and get in a few attractions. We rode Star Tours and then made the mistake of going walk by Toy Story Mania. Well there was a 90 minute wait and no more Fast Passes (these are gone in the first 3 hours).
Well my son does not understand the meaning of a 90 minute wait and we had been talking about this attraction a lot, so we ended up in the line. I am a follower of Tour Guide Mike and subscribe to his service every time that we travel to Disney and I am proud to say that we have never waited more than 30 minutes for an attraction, until now. We ended up in line next to some great folks from Canada and that made our time go by faster. Our son and their son became good buddies and even rode together.
We went back to Hollywood Studios on our full day and I took my time to get the stroller and sent my husband running at rope drop to get Fast Passes. Even though he was pretty far up, he got a return time of 10:10. We went back and rode at 10:10 and only had a 15 minute wait. We were able to get Fast Passes again when we got off the ride. The return times for these were 4:30.
The cast member said that the Fast Passes were usually out by 11:30, so if you are planning on riding Disney’s Toy Story Mania Orlando Florida on your next visit, get your Fast Passes first thing in the morning. The stand by line for that day was up to 120 minutes (no way).

Captain Jack Sparrow Gallery
If you and your kids are fans of Pirates of the Caribbean and Captain Jack Sparrow, there is a show that takes place near the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World that you will not want to miss.
It is called Captain Jack Sparrow’s Tutorial and it is sure to entertain you. Pick up a times guide when you enter the park to see what times he will be appearing.
Check out my video below. Captain Jack almost runs me over as he makes his escape.

Power Rangers
If you have a son between the age of 4 and 8, you may want to put time in your schedule for the Power Rangers. They appear 5 times a day to sign autographs at Disney Hollywood Studios on the Streets of America in front of Lights, Motor, Action. The times will be listed on the times guide.
The picture below is my son getting an autograph with the green ranger which I hear has now been replaced by the blue ranger (we will find out when we go in October). The video shows their entrance in their Power Ranger vehicle.
Quick note: The Red Ranger is always the most popular. If you are facing Lights, Motor, Action, he signs autographs on the left hand corner.

Online Time Guide for Walt Disney World
If you are stuck in your tour planning because you are not sure of the show times of certain attractions, fear no more!! I found a neat little website that keeps up with the Time Guides at Walt Disney World. Although times are always subject to change, it can give you a good idea of the attraction times when working on your schedule.
Here it is: http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/
Hope this helps. Have fun planning.. I always do.

Tower of Terror Walt Disney World
I will admit it.. I love thrill rides. My husband can take them or leave them. My son is still up in the air. The video below was my son’s first ride on Tower of Terror. At the end of the video you can hear him say “I don’t like this ride” and his face tells it all. But the next day, he ask me to ride it again and went back on it.
We are headed back in October and I am curious to see if he will come on it or if I will be riding it by myself. Just in case you are wondering, no that is not my son screaming, but my husband.
In case you are thinking about riding this attraction on your next visit, you have to be 40 inches to get on this one.

Parades at Walt Disney World
All of the parades at Walt Disney World are spectacular. One of the parades that I have grown to love is the daily parade at Disney Hollywood Studios. The variety of characters is great and they also have a lot of interaction with the crowd.
When we went in February, my son had his face painted as a superhero and 2 of the Power Rangers came up and shook his hand. He was so exicted. If you have never seen this parade, make sure to include it in your plans for your next trip. The parade usually takes place at 3pm every day. Grab a times guide when you walk into the park and check it out.
I have a video below of some pictures that I took of the parade from our previous trip. I will try to get it on video on our trip in October.

My son’s favorite attraction
My son turned 5 years old in June 2008 and he has been to Disney 3 times already. We are headed back in October for a quick trip. When we went in February 2008, he finally made it over the 42 inch mark and was able to ride a few more of the attractions.
Big Thunder Mountain became one of his favorites and I think we rode it 5 times. I have a video below of one of the times that we rode the attraction. As we were waiting to get on the ride he told me, I am so glad that we are at Disney. Those are the moments that make these trips so worth it.
Click the video below and enjoy the ride with us.
